I used to vote for both parties. I used to vote for who I thought would do the job decent. I voted both for Democrats and Republicans. In 2020 that all changed. To understand why and how I have gotten to this point, let me start from the beginning.
In 2016 I wasn't really paying attention to politics. I went with what I read in the booklet and very little research. Then trump got into the White House and everything changed.
I started paying closer attention to things, I also did more research and the more he talked the more I wanted to vomit and throw up. That's why I voted for Biden in 2020 and in 2024 for Kamala Harris because I knew what Trump was capable of and I knew that he does nothing except bring out the hate and fear in people.
Fast forward to November 2025 my city voted out a conservative council member in a district that goes for the conservative incumbant, so your vote really doe matter and so does turn out. And as flawed as the mayor is, she is better than what we had. So I am no longer a "moderate" I do know right from wrong and I have empathy and character something that the Republicans have lost.
